About A.B. Speech
After 8 years working as a speech pathologist, first in schools and then in private practice, Anastasia started A.B. Speech in 2019 as a way to pursue her passions in early intervention, paediatric feeding, and oral motor function.
We are a paediatric speech pathology service based in Springwood QLD, and Toowoomba QLD, that also offers mobile appointments to your home, day care centre, kindergarten or school. We offer appointments for children from birth through to 18 years of age, although the majority of our work is with children 0-8 years of age. We also offer professional development and training to early educators to help them to learn how to effectively support the speech, language, and feeding development of children in their care.
At A.B. Speech we believe that every individual is capable of amazing things, with the right support. We aim to provide support that is individually tailored to each child’s needs so that they can develop the communication and feeding skills that they are capable of. We also love to teach others how to support children as they develop these skills, whether it be parents, carers, or early educators. The best change comes when those that spend the most time with a child are given the tools to support them.
We use a collaborative approach, working with families and education facilities to support your child as they learn to…
Talk
Communication is so important and is part of the foundation for learning, relationships, and life. We love to help children find their voice to become more effective and confident communicators. Whether your child has difficulty pronouncing sounds, understanding or using words and sentences, or stutters, we can help.
Eat
Eating is something that most of us do without even thinking. For some children though, eating is difficult and can be incredibly stressful. When eating is a challenge, it can cause a great deal of stress for families – especially parents who want their child to be healthy & happy! We can help you figure out why your child is having difficulty with eating, and what to do about it. With additional training in both paediatric feeding and orofacial myology, we are well equipped to help whether the problem is sensory, behavioural, related to oral motor function, or a combination of these.
Play
Play is crucial to learning for children, especially in the early years. We aim to make learning fun through play in our sessions.
